Increasingly youth interaction is taking place in the form of text messages. Not only do the young wish to enter into a one-2-one dialogue with a friend using text messages, but increasingly want to interact with a community of their text-friends. For example, young texters want to and enjoy sending riddles, jokes and images created out of characters to a group of friends. Currently, they are forced to send the message to each friend individually, which deters many from pursuing the idea. It does not have to be that way as GroupTxt empowers the youth to easily send a single message to a group of their friends as if they were sending it to a single recipient. Corporate subscribers can also benefit greatly by having the ability to setup text groups and send messages to them. For example, a single message can be sent out to the handsets of a company’s sales force, or a meeting alert sent out to the management group. Email to text groups, allow a user to enter a message in the form of an email and have it sent to the group member’s handsets. Group creation and management is in the hands of the mobile subscriber. A subscriber can very easily create groups, add/delete members and remove whole groups as and when they wish.
Messages to groups and Provisioning commands can be sent from the users handset, or the subscriber can use the GroupTxt’s web application.
